Overview & Reviews
A trio of new colors -- Sandstone Metallic, Silver Birch and Sport Red Metallic -- are the lone changes for this year.
- Powerful engine lineup, multiple drivetrain configurations, capable brakes, substantial towing and hauling capacities.
- Spotty build quality, mediocre interior materials.

Great truck - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
By bzab - August 27 - 2:00 amPurchased this to pull a 5th wheel. Has all the capabilities to do what I wanted. Better ride and interior than I expected in a 3/4 ton. Gas mileage is about 13 now but only have 1500 miles in it. May improve. Have not been back to the dealer yet with any complaints. Can tell more later.

Silverado 2500Hd w/Duramax and Allison - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
By edwrecks - July 21 - 2:00 am2500Hd w/Duramax and Allison transmission is the most reliable and sensible combination for a working truck. If you want trouble-free dependability with power and engine assisted braking for safety and complete control of your vehicle when hauling heavy loads... Theres nothing better. Dont pass up this pricey drive combination for glitzy interiors that dont get the real job done, Its a "Winner" with a Capital "W".

Great Riding Workhorse - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
By greenviewconst - May 9 - 4:30 pmSuper reliable truck with a great ride despite being heavy duty (2500HD). Will pull large equipment trailer with no problem while carrying a load.

a true work horse - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
By cdhs - April 8 - 2:36 amI shoe horses for a living, I have a utility body on the back of this beast and the true weight (on the town dump scale) is 9400 lbs. Working on Long Island NY we have to drive it like we hate it. Long and short of it is I just this week broke 200k.. I beat on this truck 6 days a week and it stands tall. Maybe in another 100k ill replace it with another 6.0--=- 6 weeks ago I did the first full break job on this truck-- how can you beat that--- by far the best truck Ive ever had the pleasure to own

Real truck - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
By cwbyfan - February 9 - 6:30 amI just recently bought this truck almost a month ago and I absolutly love it. Gas milage stinks but its a beast so what can you expect? I have the 6.0l engine and it sounds great with dual Flowmaster 40 series. I have noticed the turning radius is not all that great. I do like the gooseneck hitch in the back as I have towed a horse trailer with 6 horses in it. I also regularly tow a 22ft party barge. I would definitely recomend this to anyone who wants a real truck.

55,000 miles, perfect truck - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
By Up Hill - February 2 - 9:13 amPerformance, outstanding. Acceleration with a full load or with a heavy trailer is all I could want. Comfort. This is a 3/4 ton truck, so with that understood it is very comfortable. We have driven 24 hours straight more than once with no complaints. Fuel economy. Duramax/Allison gives me 17.5 mpg since new with 50/50 mix of hwy/city mi. 19.9 mpg with light load at 65 mph. Amazing for 3/4 ton 4X4. Fun to drive. Well, OK I guess, for a truck. Build quality, reliability. I have had no failures of any kind in 55k. Exterior design. Who thought up the stupid slant-eyed headlights? Ugly, ugly. There is little to find fault with, and much to like.
